4.1 Introduction to building learning health systems
In this module, we will explore how to build learning health systems. This is one of the most exciting modules, because it will provide you with actionable considerations for where to start or what areas you can focus on next to continue to build learning into your own work. We will be looking at structures, processes and capacities that are needed to enable, support and sustain learning within health systems.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Relate how each means of learning can support setting of rules and procedures in order to institutionalize learning
- Assess how different kinds of capacity are needed among key stakeholders to support learning
- Critique how the conditions needed for learning are integrated into ongoing health system functions
