Embedded implementation research for programme managers
Embedded implementation research is an approach in which research is carried out as an integrated and systematic part of decision-making and implementation processes.
This course is designed to orient health managers to the embedded implementation research process.

Health systems constantly adjust and change. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are learning through that process! When learning does occur, it is by making the link between past actions, the effectiveness of those actions and future action.
This course will provide a comprehensive framework and a related set of diverse real-life examples of learning from across regions of the world.

Upon completing this course, learners should be able to:
- Describe what health policy and systems research (HPSR) is;
- Understand why HPSR matters: its relevance and need across different contexts;
- Understand the challenges of HPSR in the Sustainable Development Goals era; and
- Analyse HPSR methods and approaches.
